LAST YEAR'S MODEL

i’ve taken some more organic sounding percussion and paired it with a minimal, more spazzy beat and a stompy, almost brassy sounding synth for the main ‘hook’ . . .

there’s also an atmospheric pad that evolves throughout the course of the track . . .

oh and a sweeties guitar line which has not been recorded yet . . .

i like this track alot . . .still much to be done but going somewhere swell . . .

Atomic Stomp(?) Sketch

so my most excellent friends at naked highway have asked me to do a radio edit of the In and Out remix . . . which won’t be out for a few months . . . .

i guess they’re planning on doing an alternate video for this version . . . apparently some people have really been responding positively to the track  . . . which is totes sweeties . .

anyways here is the first attempt at a ‘radio edit’ . . . which apparently means the track has to be under 4:00 minutes . . . this one is 3:59 . . . had to lose the guitar solo . . . which was awesome but completely unnecessary . . .

side note . . . this is a pretty large project with over 42 tracks of audio and midi . . .lots of vocals . . .

side note 2 . . . the more i work with audio the more i’m starting to really hear the difference between high quality audio files and MP3s . . . somethings really get lost in the translation . . . makes me want to buy CDs again . . .

this is something i’ve been writing on and off for about two months . . .

i keep opening it and adding to it . . . most recently today . . .

the end is a disaster but it rambles on rather nicely before the train wreck . . .

a little bit more about the atmosphere than the mighty hook . . .

I can’t explain it all right now (cuz I’m late for for a certain special Lady Buddy’s birthday party!), but things are gonna get serious around here.

started this a few months back . . . just picked up where it began . . .

there are bigger plans for this track . . . the idea now is to nail down the majority of its moving parts . . . still skimpy on melody and mix though . . .
