Apparently Los Campesinos has food reviews on their blog. Like they’re special!
WELL NO MORE! WE TOO HAVE A FOOD REVIEW! IT STARTS RIGHT HERE!!!
-001 & I went to Zuzu Ramen yesterday. We both had Green Curry-Miso Ramen with Charshu, Slow Cooked Egg & Seasonal Vegetables. And we shared Mini Pork Buns with Braised Pork Shoulder, Scallions, Cucumber & Sweet Chili Sauce. For beverages, -001 had sake & I had a Diet Coke.
-001 is actually the ramen expert of the MODELs but I will try my best to accurately describe the meal.
As you can see from the photo above, the broth is kind of a brownish color. It’s very salty. -001 says, “That’s the miso.” I’m not sure I tasted the green curry part of the “green curry-miso ramen”, but that’s ok. The “slow cooked egg” looked to me like it was poached in the broth. It was very soft. The charshu is just roast pork like you get in Chinatown, except fattier and less sweet. (I have feeling that this ramen restaurant is actually owned by Chinese people, but they were playing river dance music in the kitchen, so it’s hard to say.) The “seasonal vegetables” were some baby bok choy. And the noodles were really good, chewier than the kind you get for 33¢. There was also a bonus sheet of nori sticking out of the bowl, which was not mentioned on the menu at all! Overall, the ramen was pretty good!
-001 got an extra round of noodles & I got most of my noodles packed up to go because I wasn’t that hungry. I had them for lunch today, just now! So I can say, with confidence, that Zuzu ramen is pretty good the next day too.
About the mini pork buns, they were not buns at all! They were more like open steamed buns with stuff inside, like how Peking duck is sometimes served. The “braised pork shoulder” seemed like the charshu to me, but that is not a complaint. The cucumbers provided a refreshing contrast to the sweetness of the meat & the sauce (which is more sweet than spicy).
-001 seemed to enjoy his sake, which came in a little bottle inside a bigger bottle of hot water. Fancy! My Diet Coke came in a can and it tasted just like regular Diet Coke! I think it paired nicely with all the of the dishes.
In summary, if you are around 4th avenue & Union Street in Brooklyn, you should try Zuzu Ramen. It’s not bad, and it’s the only ramen restaurant in the neighborhood! (Oh, and sometimes it takes them a little while to open the door, but it’s worth the wait.)

I think this review strikes a nice tone of complete disinterest in the subject matter. However, Zuzu is pretty tasty and 4th Ave needs your gentrification $$$! Unless you run a tire company. Then you hate it. Sorry.
I like to keep it classy @ zuzu with my one cup sake!
I did some market research and this review is equally as good as los campesinos’. It has fewer grammatical errors but theirs is longer. A strong first effort. Keep up the good work!
