MERCURY LOUNGE! 08.03.09

08.03.09 is a Monday night, but we are playing second, at the most perfect time of 8:00 PM! Unbelievable right? But it is true, see here we are on the Mercury Lounge calendar! Also playing: The Start (Metropolis Records) & Normandie from L.A.!

Mercury Lounge, 217 East Houston between Ludlow & Essex • 21+ • $10 • Doors open at 7:00

p.s., Guess who else is playing at the Mercury Lounge? Fan-Tan! This Friday! They were great at Duck Duck! What’re you up to on Friday?

p.p.s., I’m thinking of putting a radio player in the sidebar and forcing -001 & -003 to recommend songs. Which blog radio players, if any, do you like?

Thank you for coming to Lit Lounge!

Look, Hollywood named a movie after our song! I think this is a sign that we will be famous soon, and that the $10 limited-edition cd you bought from us will soon be worth hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.

See you at Lit tonight!

Doctor Scientist Is Now

Doctor Scientist Is Now

We’re going on last! We suggest you come earlier to see the other bands though. Doctor Scientist, as you can see from their flyer, is genius. We have played with them before in Philadelphia & they’re always lots of fun!

@ the mooch Rsun & Rig 1 I have not seen before. But after thoroughly examining their myspace pages, I can tell you: they have amazing rhymes! E.g.,

I’m really scared of your do-rag you douche-bag. —Rsun

Bring em back to the dirt and squash em like grapes. —Rig 1

L<3VE IT! Usually when I feel angry, I don’t know what to say at all and just make faces like >_< & T_T. But their lyrics more than sum up my feelings! Also Rsun has the best skeleton hoodie! ^_^

And last thing — congratulations Mr. “The Cougar”! You are the grand prize winner of the contest! It was a close one! We will put you on the guest list for tonight’s show! L8!

Rain can’t hurt me now

Roadside Graves in the rain

Roadside Graves in the rain

Thanks for coming to Duck Duck! It was a superfun bar & the other bands were awesome! We’re sorry that we didn’t get to play the whole set, but we were really glad to see you & to meet some new friends. Friends that dance!!!

And if you couldn’t make it out today… well… T_T That’s ok, the L train was F’d and the weather was stupid. We have lots of pictures & videos to show you — Roadside Graves rocked out in the rain, it was amazing! And we’re still on for Thursday at Lit Lounge right?

p.s., The competition for tix is still on! You could be a winner!

After The Annex (pt. 2)

(a continuation of “After The Annex (pt. 1)“)

Observe! The cuteness of the dancing of The Drums!!!

I can’t believe that was just last week! It feels like so long ago! Do you remember this? This is what we looked like!

Janice also sent me these amazing videos with popping sound! I will post one tomorrow (aka Friday), and then you can guess which song it is, ok? And if you are correct, you will win a prize! (like a CD + stickers! or tix to the Lit show! or a beer! whatever you want! ^_^)

More Mario Music!

The Universe Knows!

The Universe Knows!

Holy crap, you know the Law of Attraction?! (aka Wishful Thinking?) IT REALLY WORKS! I was walking through Union Square, wishing that the Amelie accordion music* would stop when this particular accordion player started to play the Super Mario Brothers theme song!

I know it’s hard to believe! My camera was low on batteries so it couldn’t record video, but I swear this is all true! Hopefully he’ll stop by the blog & confirm my story (I gave him a business card).

This is what he sounded like! Except Union Square halo head man had a better sense of rhythm! (No offense, accvach, yr rhythm is way better than all the other accordion Mario vids!)

*Srsly, there were like 3 accordion players in the Farmer’s Market. And once you escaped them there was a bagpipe player and the Hare Krishnas where the skater kids usually hang out. There is also a new pizza van. Suspicious.

Mario Music Day!

Made with Mario Paint Composer by unFunGames.com. It’s FREE! And it’s so cute! ^_^ I can’t wait to try it, have you used it, or anything like it, before?

And for a change, here is something analog:

Free music this Sunday!

Make Music New York!

Make Music New York!

This Sunday is not only Father’s Day and the first day of summer, it’s also Make Music New York Day! What is MMNY?

“…Make Music New York, “the largest music event ever to grace Gotham” (Metro New York), is a unique festival of free concerts in public spaces … MMNY takes place simultaneously with similar festivities in more than 327 cities around the world — a global celebration of music making.”

GLOBAL PARTY!! We’re going to be playing at Duckduck bar while hundreds of other bands are also playing all over the place! Clearly Duckduck bar is the place to be >>> we’ll be there, it’s located in beautiful East Williamsburg & everyone on Yelp! loves this place. Also, we’re going to be playing with many other bands that are all totally different! Listen: Marionettes of Satan, Of Hounds, Roadside Graves, the new lines, and Fan-Tan! It’s gonna be like America, a salad of sound! I expect to see many new dance moves on Sunday. ^_^

We go on last at 7p.m. Party starts at 2p.m. (schedule). Rain or shine! (We’ll be inside Duckduck if it rains, near the alcohol.)

Party in the house where robots are born!

Last night was totes a “zany adventure”, as -004 would say! The zaniness started around 6:15 p.m., when -004 tried to rent the minivan he reserved. Look at what happened!!!

“-004’s rental adventure!” makes more sense if you read the left sidebar in a larger map. Honest! -_-

While -004 was adventuring around Queens and Manhattan, the rest of us were in Brooklyn, worrying feverishly. Would we make it to -000’s on time? Is -004 going to be really angry? What should we DO!?!

“less words, more pics!”
