LAST YEAR'S MODEL

Tonight! On the [far] edges of Brooklyn!

J’aime and I will be playing at 10:30pm! I think we go on after? Around 11. Indoors. Tickets are expensive and food & drinks cost extra, but everyone there will be amazing and beautiful and talented! That is all the information I have.

What a relief, we are more not-hipster than hipster!! People who voted for “hipster”, I continue to implore you, please explain your reasoning! (commenting is open to hipsters and non-hipsters alike!)

Speaking of hipsters, did you go to the Raster-Noton store opening at e-flux last week? Hipsters were overflowing onto the sidewalk! They were especially serious looking and they weren’t afraid of the rain! Some actually looked kind of old too… When I got closer, it turned out that they weren’t hipsters at all — they were German! ^_^ I took a quick video for you while I wedged in between a bunch of them:

Anyway. Raster-Noten sounded good, like fun to zone out to, especially with the optical-illusion/geometric-type visuals, but it was just too cramped & crowded to relax. The best part of the show was that Camila from J’aime and I was also in the audience!! She was hard to recognize without her mask on.

It was very difficult to say “Hello” to someone I had only seen on stage or with a giant paper mask on, even though that person is very nice. I hope that if you see us on the street, you will not be afraid to say “Hi”! I know you are looking for us! We can take pictures together & post them on the blog! ^_^

Did you go to Europa on Saturday? Wasn’t it amazing? I saw a side of J’aime & I that I had never seen before!

New York meets Japan

I have been receiving many, many inquiries regarding the time & location of the next LAST YEAR’S MODEL show. Honestly [literally?], I do not know. We are checking out venues for Make Music NY!, but that’s not happening til late June.

So please tell us, where do you like to see shows and dance and party? We want to go where you are! We want to see you in your natural habitat! Do you think they would let us in? What other bands do you like? Maybe we could set up a show together! Yes! We would do that, just for you, just for telling us what you like! I’ll even buy you a beer!

Until then, we are going to see J’aime and I at New York meets Japan! There are 4 other bands: NoirceuR, Le-aKt’z Isora, Geist, and Echostream. You should come dance with us! There are so many reasons why:

1. J’aime and I has the best songs and the best bear head!
2. NoirceuR has a song called “Sleeping with Cigarette on Sweet16 night” that’s nice.
3. Le-ak’tz Isora looks really intense in their smoking photos & they make Japanese sound like Cantonese (to me)!
4. Echostream has a very insightful song called “One Last Cigarette”.
5. Geist has a song called “Sadism”, which is not self-destructive or smokey, but close enough.

Also, all of the bands have advanced hair! Aaaand, Kinokuniya (-001’s source for the best comic books ever!) is one of the party sponsors! I hope they will be giving away stickers with cute animals on them!

Remember: Smoking is bad! Quitting really sucks! Totally not worth all the nicotine-happy-feelings! At all!
