Shit Just Got Real
Hi friends! -001 said that I could post on the blog again! YEEESSSSSSS!!!
Well, he never said that I couldn’t post, but I like his posts and I think he posts more if I don’t post, so I haven’t been posting. Or maybe I’ve been a little preoccupied.
Anyway, we had practice this weekend, without -006. It would have been unbearably sad if -005 hadn’t visited us. PLUS!!! -001 & -003 wrote a new song! It is awesome. And it is very fast. 180 bpm. You are going to like it! IT’S SO FAST!

-005 makes everything alright
If you’re not too busy celebrating Columbus Day on October 11th, you can hear the new song at The Mercury Lounge. You can also listen to the Parlotones & Atomic Tom after we are done. They’re alright. They have a lot more Facebook Likes & Myspace Fans than we do.
So the show is about 2 weeks from now. That gives you time to learn some new dance moves (see below). These moves are pretty fast, and a little more complicated than the choreography that I usually post here. It is totally OK to do them half-time for our songs:
See ya later. If you are/know 625krista, email me!!!
No commentsFeb 8th Mercury Lounge Show Roundup!
It was a cold night in New York City on Feb 8th, 2010. Hadouken!, had come to town from across ‘the pond‘, looking for an elevated platform from which to launch their fireballs. Me and my gaggle of models (hi guys!) had a performance scheduled at the very same location (seemingly already conquered by Hadouken!’s mountains of equipment). Fortunately for us, one of their touring members turned out to be this very kind sound technician who helped us move our belongings hither and thither. Big up to that dude. Our pre-show routine was proceeding smoothly…
Things got a little hairy right before we started playing. I acted quickly toward a resolution, however, by offering up my headphone amp as a sacrifice to Hadouken!. I simply plugged it into their funny-looking power strip (tnwss), which basically murdered it. I’m happy to report that it has not died in vain, however: the result was the successful completion of both our’s and Hadouken!’s shows! I must now begin my long journey to find a replacement headphone amp. I will begin with a prayer and a few bucks at the quagmire known as “guitar center”. Wish me luck!
Anyway, we started playing, and everything was going great. Model-001 was righteous and Models-003 and -002 were slammin’. Right in the middle of a song, though, this really big fish swam up and perched on my cymbal:
So, I ate that sh&t.
More importantly though, we played great, and lots of fabulous people showed up. CHECK OUT THIS GREAT BLOGPOST ABOUT IT! Thanks, King of the Gigabitches! (say it five times fast)
Also, check out all of eatsdirt’s excellent photos!
Please come back and see us at our next show on Saturday, March 13th at Desmond’s Tavern!
TOTALS:
1 nice show review
1 fish eaten
1 headphone amp destroyed
1 pair of suspenders worn
4 outfits not worn
4 random t-shirts worn
2 new order covers played
50 copies of our EP “Vapid” given away for FREE! !!!!
This is Hadouken!
I think we can all agree that dioramas are awesome! Come see Hadouken! out of the box this Monday, right after we open for them!

We’re opening for Hadouken!
Monday, February 8th, 2010
7:00 p.m. (or 6:00 p.m. if you are like me & chronically late ^_^ In fact I should probably be getting ready for work right now. MORE DETAILS TO COME!!!!!!!!)
WE ARE AT WAR!!
Did you know that we are at war with an Earth band? That’s right. We are. I wasn’t going to mention it, but then I realized that if we didn’t tell you the odds would be in the favor our our enemy because there are more people in their band…
Los Campesinos! you are going down.
Punk rock may have broken all our heart’s in 2007 but that doesn’t mean I will sit idly by when a band with much more popularity almost steals our August show at the Mercury Lounge.
Yes you heard me right…we were almost bumped off that bill so that Los Campesinos! could have a PRACTICE show before their Bowery Ballroom gig. Maybe this is because they couldn’t all fit in a practice room — there’s SO DAMN MANY OF THEM!
And that is why I thought you should know, lil fanbase, because I’m small and need protection. PSYCHE!!! ATTACK!!! You are going down Campesinos! (Also, Aleks…just because you are no longer a Campesinos! doesn’t mean that you are safe from my wrath)
We are going to win. It will look like this.

Last Years Model at Mercury Lounge 8/3/09 from Ilin Chung on Vimeo.
Some other fun stuff happened off-stage last week too. Like J’aime and I was making music outside with a very friendly homeless guy! For a really long time! And Cecilia, from the Backlights, almost got in a fight with a muay thai master! AND, to top it all off, there were CUPCAKES!!! for Lara’s birthday! Sooooo yummy! Thank you for coming to the show and making it awesome!
I almost forgot! Wasn’t the drummer, Chelsea Davis, of The Start amazing? She was like this, but for a whole hour and a half!!! So hot!
And if you weren’t there, well…. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to catch these precious moments on video for you. You should really come next time instead of getting sick and having to work late and forgetting and stuff! ^_^ j/k! I love you!
