Feb 8th Mercury Lounge Show Roundup!
It was a cold night in New York City on Feb 8th, 2010. Hadouken!, had come to town from across ‘the pond‘, looking for an elevated platform from which to launch their fireballs. Me and my gaggle of models (hi guys!) had a performance scheduled at the very same location (seemingly already conquered by Hadouken!’s mountains of equipment). Fortunately for us, one of their touring members turned out to be this very kind sound technician who helped us move our belongings hither and thither. Big up to that dude. Our pre-show routine was proceeding smoothly…
Things got a little hairy right before we started playing. I acted quickly toward a resolution, however, by offering up my headphone amp as a sacrifice to Hadouken!. I simply plugged it into their funny-looking power strip (tnwss), which basically murdered it. I’m happy to report that it has not died in vain, however: the result was the successful completion of both our’s and Hadouken!’s shows! I must now begin my long journey to find a replacement headphone amp. I will begin with a prayer and a few bucks at the quagmire known as “guitar center”. Wish me luck!
Anyway, we started playing, and everything was going great. Model-001 was righteous and Models-003 and -002 were slammin’. Right in the middle of a song, though, this really big fish swam up and perched on my cymbal:
So, I ate that sh&t.
More importantly though, we played great, and lots of fabulous people showed up. CHECK OUT THIS GREAT BLOGPOST ABOUT IT! Thanks, King of the Gigabitches! (say it five times fast)
Also, check out all of eatsdirt’s excellent photos!
Please come back and see us at our next show on Saturday, March 13th at Desmond’s Tavern!

1 headphone amp destroyed

Memories
I dunno about that last post (no offense -001). Maybe Last Year’s Model is over: we don’t play shows, -001’s always working, I’m psychologically disabled, -004 secretly wants to be a bassist, what if -003 never comes back to America, & we don’t even have a van! AAAAA!!!!! Look at how cool we used to be (circa August 2008):
(This video ["Fade & Reveal"] was made with Microsoft Movie Maker. I think it’s a little more accessible than -001’s video “concept” for 2012, but I’ll try to refrain from judging before seeing the final product.)
(The audio track is “Down”, which is a very nice song for when you are feeling nostalgic that you can purchase from iTunes.)

Man, we should have been putting our photos on Flickr all along! Even if the set-up is a little confusing and I don’t know how to get the [hilarious!] photo titles to show up in the embedded slideshow.
Anyway, remember when we went on tour and you were really upset that you couldn’t come along on the adventure of a lifetime? Now we have photos & videos from the show and you can see what you missed out on! First stop: New York City @ DCTV / The Tank for 808!
P.S., Be our Flickr friend!
P.P.S., I’m almost ready to tell you about the Decompression party, but it still makes me tear up a bit.
Make Music New York: Pics & Vids
As promised, here are the photos & videos from MMNY! Yay!!!
Roadside Graves was so fun I almost bought a beer!
And Fan-Tan was dreamy!
Finally, this is a video of us. It’s the longest video ever! I couldn’t decide which clips to post — so I mushed all the clear shots of -004 (and some of our friends) together! It’s so rare that anyone gets to see him on stage. Plus, I think the choppiness really captures the essence of our set with all the equipment malfunctions. ^_^
Starring: -004!!! also featuring: Naked Highway, J’aime and I, Backlights, The Last King of England, and i.HUG!
Look at how -004 moves! Amazing!

Observe! The cuteness of the dancing of The Drums!!!
I can’t believe that was just last week! It feels like so long ago! Do you remember this? This is what we looked like!

Janice also sent me these amazing videos with popping sound! I will post one tomorrow (aka Friday), and then you can guess which song it is, ok? And if you are correct, you will win a prize! (like a CD + stickers! or tix to the Lit show! or a beer! whatever you want! ^_^)
No commentsParty in the house where robots are born!
Last night was totes a “zany adventure”, as -004 would say! The zaniness started around 6:15 p.m., when -004 tried to rent the minivan he reserved. Look at what happened!!!
“-004’s rental adventure!” makes more sense if you read the left sidebar in a larger map. Honest! -_-
While -004 was adventuring around Queens and Manhattan, the rest of us were in Brooklyn, worrying feverishly. Would we make it to -000’s on time? Is -004 going to be really angry? What should we DO!?!

Man, uploading videos to YouTube is slow…
Here are some pictures of shoes that uploaded faster!
-003 was all stressed before the show because his shoelace had snapped & there were none to be found in the many tiny shoestores all over the place in Midtown. And I was stressed out by all the pink & blue shoelaces sticking out of my amazing lightning-bolt sneakers. It was like my sneakers had a ponytail! So I let -003 have the pink laces. And now our shoes will be friends forever!
(I know, the white pumps won in the poll. I wore white kitten heels for the show & will continue the hunt.)
-001 also got new custom-painted shoes from “the shoe guy” in “the East Village”. So pretty!
There are no updates regarding -004’s shoes.

I am so tired today, how are you? Thank you so much for coming out to The Tank last night (especially on the night before Easter & Passover)! We hope you had fun and got to eat a cupcake or two – they were tiny but packed with allergen-free tastiness (from Babycakes).
Here are some pretty photos from the show:
- MODEL-001 and cameraman (browse backwards/left to see more!) (thanks cuttlefish!)
- A whole LYM set! (thanks gmt!)
By the way, did you see the cool guys with cameras on stage? They were wearing all black, so you might not have noticed them, but that was Evan, Dan, Chip & Will! They are the best, they worked all afternoon to set up the mics & cameras. Soon we will have neat live show videos that will look 1,000,000 times better than the ones I’m going to post online later (tomorrow)! Thanks guys!!!
You may have also noticed that our costumes looked totally different & more amazing than usual. We would like to thank Janice for her great designs, her large collection of glues & makeup, and all the time she spent on making our costumes (and shopping w/me)!
Happy Easter / Passover / Sunday! Don’t forget to stock up on Passover Coke! With Real Sugar!!!
