Turn Around
We have been receiving many appalled comments about MODEL-001’s rotated images:
Why is this crooked!? It’s 2008! Come on!
I can’t rotate my laptop!
You guys look like losers in an anti-gravity chamber!
Here at Last Year’s Model, we aim to please! So here again are the same photos from the tour, with rotation corrections. We apologize for the previous error and have included a bonus photo of the sweet view from our new practice space, free of charge! Enjoy!

So I’m doing my best to finish up with the tour pics and vids posting today. I MEAN OMG IT’S BEEN LIKE 2 WEEKS!!! LAZY LAZY LYM!!!! sorz…i’m doing my best but… I’M STILL SO TIRED!! and we had a block party yesterday. did you come? We performed with Bill Grady, Evan Neel and J’aime & I. It was really cool. So I hope you didn’t miss it…cuz throwing our own show is a ton of work and I doubt we’ll do it again anytime soon…we have to forget how much work it is before we do it again, okay?!
OH, YOU MUST BECOME FRIENDS WITH J’AIME & I!!
http://www.myspace.com/jaimeandi
Anyway… here we go with the videos
The show at Sarasota was a great show!!! The bar was really crowded even though it was a Tuesday night, and John and Jen (our hosts and party promoters) were the most gracious people!!! But I think MODEL-002 already posted about that, so just watch the video or die. <3 <3 (don’t really die : D okay!!)
COMPUTER SAYS NO EPISODE IV (sarasota)
Next I give you a video from our tiny little show in Orlando. Still, you will agree that the video is fun…plus, we haven’t recorded this one yet (though very soon we will!!!)
OKAY NOW IT’S TIME FOR RANDOM TOUR PICS!!!
Okay, first is Baltimore…this wasn’t technically part of the tour…but it was a really cool show. We played with the Megadrives for the first time!! Have you heard them? We hope to play with them again soon (p.s. we played with them in DC too!!) Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/themegadrives
THAT’S A CROOKED PIC!! I DON’T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT!! SORZ X 1000!!!
Okay, for some reason I only have a few more pics…maybe I wasn’t very good at getting all the files from Model-003. sigh…I guess I’ll post AGAIN l8r… But here’s some more from Gainesville.
THIS IS YIP YIP!!! If you were living in a hole you don’t know who they are (if you live on the interweb, then of course you already have this knowledge!!!) http://www.myspace.com/yipyip
These are most of the pics I have…you ask, “Did you only play in Gainesville?!” I assure you that we played many places, but WHERE ARE THE PICTURES?! I DON’T KNOW : ( I guess they are not on my computer…but I thought they were so I will have to search again… I hope you will enjoy it. See you soon!!! Arigato!!!
No commentsMORE TOUR VIDS AND PICS!!!
So, I’ve finally got a little rest, so I’m gonna do my best to post some of the most perfecto moments of our tour for you!!! You’re welcome <3 <3
Tour was really a crazy time for us. It was only our second time touring and we had so many more shows back to back this time!!! Plus, I was losing my voice before I even left NYC!!! Terrible…so I had to quit smoking… which was really fun… but I feel so much better now and it is nice to be able to sing again. Let’s just say that by the end of tour the sets starting sounding a lot more hardcore from a vocal standpoint. Sorry vocal chords.
Also, did you know that if you look at pictures of your vocal chords it kinda looks like lady parts? It’s true!! I wouldn’t make it up. But I also wouldn’t have thought of it if it hadn’t been for this old weirdo lesbian who saw me looking at vocal health info and told me that she enjoyed my choice of internet viewing…and then I realized what she thought she was looking at. And I was really uncomfortable. Especially when she started playfully tickling me… I don’t like being touched. High fives are about as far as i go.
Anyhow, here’s some neato stuff for you to look at!!
This one is from our show in Gainesville. This show was really cool and we were really looking forward to it as we had met Chris Miller on our last tour, and couldn’t wait to see all our friends in Gainesville again. I can’t believe it has been a whole year!! The stage we played on was huge and they had crazy lights and a fog machine. Which is to say we were all blind after the show. Plus, we played with this rad band called Yip Yip. They were like aliens from another world (is that redundant?!) and I think you should check them out.
And here’s one of me from the same show. I look at that and I think, “Gary Numan!!!” It’s a good thought to have when you look at yourself. You should try it.
One more from Gainesville.
Moving on, I wanted to post for you a video from my personal favorite show of the tour, our Chapel Hill show!! Have you guys heard of +/-? They are a really cool band. You should find their myspace and listen to “Ballroom”. It’s my favorite!!
OKAY SO I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS LIVE VIDEO AND I HOPE THAT YOU LEARN NEW MOVES FROM WATCHING THIS. It was one of the best shows even though it was little.
This took forever. I’ll put some more up later.
No commentsTOYS FOR SCARY KIDS
early the next morning–after our triumphant concert in Deland–we woke up to begin our long drive to Athens Georgia. it was cold and surreal. the house looked like some kind of model-home IKEA catalogue, all wall to wall flame retardant carpets and vinyl furniture. i walked into the kitchen and there was the bartender’s large black cat doing his business in the littler box. i looked him over and noticed him staring back. eyes like laser beans. as i walked into the other room preparing to brush my teeth the same large black cat was sitting in ANOTHER litter box, same laser beam stare focused right at me, same business happening on the other end. it couldn’t have been more than ten or fifteen seconds between the two events. that cat was a quick lttle fucker.
anyway, we drove all the way to Athens where we had smoothies and ate dinner at this really cool place that had old Sci-fi movie posters hanging on the walls. i ate something with an egg on it. later when we got to the club we found out that the headlining band had to cancel the show because someone in their camp got into a car accident. i hope they’re all ok. too bad we had to find out after we had set up all of our equipment and were getting ready to sound check. that was a fucking burn. we stayed up and ate ice cream and watched movies that night. it was like a little girls slumber party. no trashed hotel rooms or drug overdoses. cookies and ice cream cookies and ice cream.
oh well. we’ll give you a pass this time Athens. We’ll be back. But we’re not playing with any damn longhairs!!!!
Other notables from that day:
1) Getting called a faggot by a guy in a pick up truck.
2) Laying eyes upon the ugliest, scariest toys know to man. KIds who play with these toys are not to be trusted.
3 commentshello from DeLand, FL
SOAP in sarasota was awesome! everyone was dancing & the djs were great. we will post more [better] fun photos & videos once we get back to new york. we’ve been spending most of our time in the car. yesterday we had a break though, and jen & her friends took us to siesta beach where the sand is a white quartz powder & the ocean is warm and a super clear green. the skies were filled with non-hurricane clouds & it was so much fun.
right now we’re in deland at caffe da vinci, which is a pretty cool coffee shop/bar. they have a huge outdoor space filled with all sorts of mismatched, old-looking furniture. it’s too bad it’s pouring outside.
